I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. My father, a true ‘Bluenoser’ whose roots run deep in Nova Scotia soil, instilled in me the sense that Nova Scotia was ‘home’. And so it naturally followed that one day I would find the path that led back home. My motivation each time I get in front of my easel is the desire to produce a painting that evokes the same emotional response that I experienced throughout my life whenever I beheld an ethereal, moody landscape that emitted that ‘golden hour’ light and touched my inner spiritual being, kindling a sense of quietude and pensiveness.
Her work hangs in private collections across Canada and the US. As an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Virginia was awarded First Place in the 2023 Landscape Exhibition at Federation Gallery in Vancouver, British Columbia.
