Phillip Bailey - Paint the Town 2026 | In-Town/Outdoor Artist
Phillip Bailey was born in Lequille, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. A direct descendant of Black Loyalist Rose Fortune and grandson of artist Harold Cromwell, he creates hand-drawn manuscript maps using pencil, ink, and acrylic. His work bridges the precision of cartography with artistic expression, transforming geographically accurate maps into imaginative compositions. Bailey also creates original pieces that seamlessly integrate maps with visual elements connected to their locations, such as the flags of countries, provinces, or cities, resulting in distinctive works that celebrate both place and design.
