Paint the Town has been adapted for 2026 to streamline logistics and reduce upfront costs, allowing the event to focus more directly on its core goal: raising vital operational funds for ARTSPLACE. This shift reflects the current landscape for arts organisations, including recent reductions in arts and culture funding, and ensures the event remains sustainable while continuing to foster community engagement and artist participation.
For artists
Paint the Town 2026 is a hybrid weekend fundraiser at ARTSPLACE, August 15 & 16, 2026, combining in-person outdoor participation and artists who prefer to work in their studios, with a week-long online auction. A limited number of artists will be invited to create work outdoors during the weekend, offering opportunities to interact with the public, while additional artists may participate from their studios. The event begins with a Friday, August 14, evening meet-and-greet at ARTSPLACE, and all participating artists will include a studio (buy-it-now) work in the online auction, for viewing pre-event on the auction site. Final details, including participation costs and the number of available spaces, are still being confirmed. Artists are invited to register their interest now by clicking the notification button to be added to the email list and receive full details when registration opens.
For visitors and bidders
Paint the Town 2026 will take place at ARTSPLACE and around the town of Annapolis Royal on August 15 & 16, 2026, bringing artists into the community to create work outdoors throughout the weekend. Visitors can meet artists, see artwork in progress, and on Sunday enjoy an opportunity to view completed pieces at ARTSPLACE before they are included in a week-long online auction. More details will be announced soon — sign up for our newseltter on the homepage for notifications to stay informed about viewing times, auction dates, and ways to support the event.
