Gary D. Selig, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia Born in Annapolis Royal in 1957, Gary drew realistically since age five. Starting to paint at age sixty, he is essentially self taught, painting year-round in his Bridgewater home studio, when not painting on location.

An active member of the Lunenburg Art Gallery Society and the Regional Hospital’s South Shore Galleries program, Gary shows and sells through both galleries. Gary enjoys painting en plein-air in Nova Scotia, participating annually in a number of Nova Scotia plain-air festivals.

His subjects include portraiture, still life, wildlife and figurative work as well as plein-air landscapes. Gary paints large and small works in acrylic and watercolour and recently, studio work in oils. Gary Selig’s work can be seen at his online gallery.

ARTSPLACE’s vision is to share stimulating work and strengthen artistic life in our region. Creating environments for art and arts practitioners to thrive is key to our work, as is supporting audiences in their growth, awareness, and excitement about art.

We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
