Elaine Bergen showed an early aptitude for drawing showcasing colour, form and perspective which was further developed at John Abbot College, Concordia University, Ontario College of Art & Design (OCADU), La Musee des Beaux Arts de Montreal, developing Fine Art and professional Interior Design studies leading to Full Registration as an Interior Designer of Canada.
Balancing large scale corporate, healthcare and residential interior design development projects over 35 years and ongoing art studies, she honed her design and art career and took on commissions for such clients as Revera, Investment Council of Canada, Dymon Capital, Ports, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden and Unilever and her design projects extend across Canada, USA and UAE.
She now works from her ‘new’ old home & art/design studio near Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. Recent work includes organizing ongoing Life Drawing sessions for ARCACArtsPlace and developing Plein Air projects.
Bergen says, “Finding the lesser seen and composing unexpected views of the familiar is at the core of this art work. These images and perspectives are architectural & ethereal based on reality, could be actual or imagined, but certainly aesthetic.”
