Courtney Turner is an emerging contemporary artist. Through using a unique combination of rug hooking and painting in her art practice, she is investigating her own personal identity, her struggles while living with chronic illness and reconnecting with her child self. Through her artwork, Turner honours and portrays the comforts of her life while navigating through the otherwise uncomfortable concepts of her journey of healing her mind, body and soul.
Turner was born raised from settler ancestry on the unceded and ancestral territory of Mi'kma'ki/Nova Scotia, Canada.
She completed her BFA in Textiles & Fashion at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in May, 2020.
