Courtney Turner is an emerging contemporary artist. Through using a unique combination of rug hooking and painting in her art practice, Turner honours and portrays the comforts of her life while navigating through the otherwise uncomfortable concepts of her journey of healing her mind, body and soul, while living with chronic illness.

Turner was born and raised from settler ancestry on the unceded and ancestral territory of Mi'kma'ki/Nova Scotia, Canada.

She completed her BFA in Textiles & Fashion at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in May, 2020.

ARTSPLACE’s vision is to share stimulating work and strengthen artistic life in our region.
Creating environments for art and arts practitioners to thrive is key to our work, as is supporting audiences in their growth, awareness, and excitement about art.
