Christa Specht has always had an interest in art. Starting out with pencil sketching as a child, then adding oil painting as a teen, watercolor as an adult, and acrylic just recently, she has always enjoyed the challenge of making art.
Recently her focus has been on improving her plein air painting skills, and making time to paint regularly. From 2016 to the present she has sold her work at multiple plein air painting events around the Maritimes, also joining the Halifax Urban Sketchers in 2016 and the Plein Air Painters HRM in 2019.
She has also sold work at Argyle Fine Art, Teichart Gallery, 14 Bells, and the Lunenburg Art Gallery, to name a few. In May 2019 she had a show of flower paintings at Gallery Nineteen Nineteen in support of the Huntington’s Society of Canada.
Current goals include getting outside more often for photography and plein air sketching, and focusing on the Atlantic Maritime landscape she calls home.
