Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the driving force behind any successful community organisation. ARCAC has been acticve for forty years, and volunteers have been a huge part of that success.

We have many rewarding and entertaining roles for you to contribute. Whether you prefer to be out front interacting with the public and artists, or quiet in the office or kitchen or in your vehicle, there is something for everyone. If you the art or the gallery or our artists or our community or developing some new skills, we can find a way for you to take part.

We appreciate everyone who gives of their time, for ten minutes or ten years!

People often have specific areas where they would feel comfortable offering a bit of their time. Volunteers will be contacted on an as needed basis. Let us know if you would like to help out, and which areas interest you, by completing the contact form below.
Some examples would be:
  • Gallery Sitting: 3 hours on a Saturday 11 am - 2 pm (meet & greet visitors, answer queries, take messages, take payments for memberships and art sales)
  • Flyers and posters: Do you live in Bear River or Kentville (or anywhere really) but pass through Annapolis Royal regularly? We are always looking for people willing to grab a few dozen flyers or posters
  • Receptions & Openings: We are in need of help with the set up and tidy of our events including food preparation, drinks, greeting visitors
  • Yard work and building maintenance
  • Office work (filing/archiving)
  • Paint the Town fundraising weekend

You do not need to be a member to volunteer, only if you wish to join a committee or the Board.

To be eligible to join the Board, you would need to be a member for at least one year.

A bit more involved
We are always looking for new ideas and energy - why not help out on one of our committees?
  • Finance Committee: must have financial/accounting/business experience
  • Human Resources: must have some business/HR experience
  • Scholarship
  • Programs
  • Building
  • Fundraising / Paint the Town
  • Membership
  • Grant Writing / Advocacy
  • Promotions & PR: distributing mailings, flyers and posters

ARTSPLACE’s vision is to share stimulating work and strengthen artistic life in our region.
Creating environments for art and arts practitioners to thrive is key to our work, as is supporting audiences in their growth, awareness, and excitement about art.
