A place to gather, socialize and celebrate art outside of a traditional gallery setting. ARTSPLACE invites applications from Atlantic Canadian artists to exhibit site-specific installations between July and October. Artists are paid a fee of $500 ($425 plus $75 general expenses).

Depending on the selections, artists will show for one to two months. The deadline is May 15 of each year. Proposals are juried in early June.
Library GalleryThe Library Gallery is allocated for experimental projects, pop-up exhibitions or residencies. There is no fee to exhibit. Conceived to be less traditional in format, the programming timeline is fluid. It offers a place for artists to test out new works that are in the process of development. Emerging, video, new media, installation and performance artists are encouraged to propose projects for this space. Please contact the Gallery Director should you wish to discuss the use of this space.
Mym Members' GalleryThe Mym Gallery is designated for ARTSPLACE members to exhibit new work, there is no fee to exhibit. Sales are processed by the gallery, and incur a 30% fee.
Members are encouraged to submit a brief proposal and up to 5 images for review (or recent samples of your work if not yet completed). The Mym Gallery offers a number of spaces each year, February through December. Preferred times of year are not guaranteed. |
Chapel Gallery Rental
Rental fee: $200 for members and $300 for non-members. Sales are processed by the gallery, and incur a 20% fee.
We welcome proposals to rent the Chapel Gallery from collectives, artist groups, and individual artists. Exhibitions run for a three-week period. The Chapel Gallery is an opportunity for artists to sell their work in a more traditional commercial setting - although having work for sale is not a requirement to rent the space. Please submit a brief explanation of what you would like to exhibit and up to 5 images of the proposed artwork (or samples if the work is not yet created).
Exhibits are to be completely installed by the 1st of each month and removed by the 26th of each month so as to be ready for the next exhibit. Exhibiting artists are welcome to host their own reception during open hours, in agreement with the gallery. |
