I am a painter with a deep concern for how an image is brought into being. I am specifically interested in painting because of its long history and its seductive materiality through working directly with colour. I like to think of the paintings I’m working on as collaborations with something, whether that something is the subject painted directly from observation, a chance occurrence that led to the painting/idea, or a collaboration with the paint itself.
